About Us
The Burkhardt Family encompasses 7 generations of "Natural Living."
My name is Victoria Sue Burkhardt, 5th generation of the German immigrant of 1820's, Charles Burkhardt Sr. aka "Mighty Mite." He was a short stout man, with a long white beard, and lived to be near 100 years old. In their homeland, herbal remedies were my ancestors way of life. The whole family and neighbors would bond together to do farming and gardening. Using preservatives, or applying chemical fertilizers were not even a option. They created their own remedies for preventive healthcare and healing purposes. They not only treated people, but also their animals and plants. These homegrown remedies were widely practiced and passed down through the families.

The Burkhardts settled in northwestern Ohio in the 1820's. Grandpa Charlie's family, along with my own parents, are hard working farmers and gardeners. I believe that this hard, yet simple way of living, contributes to ones life longevity. Realizing this at a very young age, my personal path was paved.
Currently, the Burkhardt ladies have demanding careers and juggle being full time mothers. The Burkhardt men farm, or chose careers that required them to move away from the Original Burkhardt Farm.
I believe farming, gardening, and having your hands in the dirt is a very rewarding career, but it remains labor intensive and not very lucrative these days. Fact is, healthy living does require pride and diligence in preparing a nutritional diet, implementing proper exercise and taking "power naps" daily.
Being a full time mother of three myself, enjoying a demanding travel career, and commuting 100 miles to work every day, I remained focused and earned my Doctor of Naturopathy degree.
I remain determined to carry out the Burkhardt vision, which is to continue to live healthy and educate others on the importance of daily preventive healthcare using natural therapies.
