Sugar Cookies - Grandma Frusher

2 cups of sugar
1 cup shortening (crisco)
4 eggs
1 cup sour milk
- OR - reg milk and 1 tsp of vinegar and 1 tsp baking soda. Whip till foam then add to the dough then do the rest.
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 Tbsp. baking soda
4 cups flower
4 tsp. baking powder
dash of salt
Mix together. Drop on cookie sheet. bake at 400 degrees.


Glorified Rice - Grandma Frusher

1/2 cup whip cream
1/4 cup sugar
16 marshmallows
1 can crushed pineapple (drained)
2 cups cooked rice

Whip cream, than fold in marshmallows, pineapple, and rice lightly.

Let stand in refrigerator for one or 2 hours


Peach Pudding

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 TBSP. Butter
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
 
Blend together to make batter
 
In separate bowl:
1 cup sliced peaches
1 cup boiling water
1 cup sugar
1 TBSP. butter
  Mix together. Pour over batter and bake until done.


Popcorn Balls - Grandma Moore

3 cups sugar
3/4 cup syrup (white)
1 TBSP. salt
1 cup water
Boil approximately 15 minutes until stringy, or, looks as if drops from the spoon. Pour over popcorn. Butter hands and mix syrup and popcorn. Form into balls.

  

Oven Fried Chicken

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
 
Melt 1/4 LB. butter on cookie sheet - (keep in oven)
In bowl mix 1 egg and 1/2 cup flour 
In separate bowl, or plastic bag, put
1 cup flour,
2 Tsp  salt
1 Tsp  baking powder
 
Dunk chicken in egg, then flour mixture. Put on cookie sheet. Bake 1 1/2 hours: 45 mins. each side

  

Fruit Cocktail Cake

1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 TBLS melted butter
1 cup and 1 (one) TBLS flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 small can of Fruit Cocktail

Sprinkle with 1/3 cup brown sugar. Bake at 350 degrees.


Aunt Nellie Huxal's Yummy Sandwiches

1 Doz. buns
1 lb. ham
12 slices swiss cheese
 
Mix
1/2 lb. oleo softened
2 med.-chopped onions
3 TBSP. prepared mustard
1 TBSP worcestershire sauce
 
Spread mixture on both sides of bun. Put ham and cheese on and put together. Wrap each in foil. Bake at 400 for 20 or 30 minutes.


Hash Brown Casserole - Aunt Marilyn Moore

1 large bag hash browns
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 pint sour cream
1 cup grated cheese
1 medium to large onion chopped
 
Mix all together. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.


Mississippi Mud

Grease cookie sheet with oleo
2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening (oleo)
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1/3 cup cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
 
Mix together and pour in pan. Bake at 300 for 30 minutes then spread 1 package mini marshmallows on top and bake about 10 minutes. Let cool. 

Icing for Mississippi Mud
1 1/2 sticks of oleo
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup can milk
1/3 cup cocoa
1 cup chopped nuts
1 box powered sugar

Mix together and spread over cake.
